Hello Everyone
Hope you are having a good week…
Psalm 19:1 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands”.
During the current COP26 Climate conference in Glasgow, its good to remind ourselves about the significance of creation! As there was no room in the newsletter for it, I’ve included the Church of England prayer for the conference below..
Finally, here are this week’s newsletter and the traditional service…
A Prayer for COP 26
The United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 26) is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, between 31 October and 12 November 2021. This is where the political, scientific and religious leaders from around the world will be meeting to review progress since the previous summit in Paris. This is a crucial meeting for the state of our planet, and its decisions will affect our lives and those of future generations.
The Diocese of Peterborough has issued a prayer which they request we use up to and during the event.
Loving God,We praise your name with all you have created.
You are present in the whole universe, and in the smallest of creatures.
We acknowledge the responsibilities you have placed upon us as stewards of your creation.
May the Holy Spirit inspire all political leaders at COP26 as they seek to embrace the changes needed to foster a more sustainable society.
Instil in them the courage and gentleness to implement fairer solutions for the poorest and most vulnerable, and commit their nations to the care of Our Common Home.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ your Son. Amen
Adrian
