Hello Everyone

I listened to a video by Kris Kandiah (Sanctuary Foundation) this week talking about how as a nation we are helping refugees from the Ukraine. He said when you do host a family you learn about so many things: “that hospitality is a great gift, that refugees are ordinary people who need help, that some of our systems really aren’t working – the immigration system is difficult, universal credit is broken and the social housing system is broken!” So for many people, what was a distant news item has become a reality that has affected their hearts. It all resonated with me and reminded me that it is when we experience something, it is the experience that can change hearts.

The Sanctuary Foundation’s hope is that now people have started with Ukrainian refugees, this may lead to our nation being more open about supporting those from Afghanistan, Southern Sudan etc…
