Notices W/C 3rd September

Hello Everyone

I can’t quite believe we’re at the end of August, but here we are!

As a benefice, we have recently partnered with a charity called ‘Kintsugi Hope’. Kintsugi comes from the Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold – this repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique, than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars, it makes a feature of them. In a similar way, the Kintsugi Hope charity seeks to help people discover treasure in life’s scars. The main way they seek to do this is through running well-being groups all over the country. A small group of us have recently undertaken some training with Kintsugi Hope, with a view to run a Kintsugi well-being group in our benefice in the future.

Co-founder of Kintsugi Hope, Patrick Regan (OBE) has recently written a new book and will soon be embarking on ‘The Brighter Days’ tour – a chat-show style evening with stories, music, humour, and honesty, that will inspire us in having hope for the future. As a benefice, we are delighted to be hosting one of the tour dates at 7pm on Saturday 11th November in St Mary’s Wollaston. I will be sharing more information about this exciting event in the coming weeks but in the meantime, do take a look at the advert in the attached newsletter, save the date, and book a ticket! I have read several of Patrick’s previous books and heard him speak at events several times – he is a really excellent and accessible speaker, and I cannot recommend booking into The Brighter Days tour highly enough! It’s going to be a great event.
